Shani dev birth story:
The story found in Kashikhand of Skandpuran about the birth of Shani Dev is something like this. King Daksha's daughter Sangya was married to the sun god.
Sun God's glory was very high, due to which Sangya was worried. She used to think that somehow the fire of Sun God would have to be reduced by heat. As the days passed, three children Vaivasvat Manu, Yamraj and Yamuna were born from the womb of Sangya. Sangya was still afraid of the glory of the Sun God, then one day she decided that she would reduce the glory of the Sun God by doing penance, but for the rearing of the children and the Sun God should not be aware of it, she took out a trick. Whose name was named Sanvarna. Sangya gave the responsibility of children and Suryadev to her shadow Sanvarna and said that from now on in my place you will serve Suryadev and follow women's religion while taking care of children, but this secret should remain only between me and you.
Now Sangya walked from there and reached her father's house and told about her problems, the father reprimanded her and sent her back, but Sangya did not go back and went to the forest and took the form of a mare and got engrossed in penance. On the other hand, Suryadev did not realize at all that the person living with him is not a noun but a decoration. Sanvarna continued to follow her religion, because of her shadow form, she did not face any problem even with the glory of Sun God. Manu, Shani Dev and Bhadra (Tapati) were also born from the union of Suryadev and Sanvarna.
According to another legend, Shani Dev was born from the Kashyap Yajna under the guardianship of Maharishi Kashyap. Chhaya was a devotee of Shiva. When Shani Dev was in Chhaya's womb, Chhaya did severe penance to Lord Shiva that he could not even remember to eat and drink. Due to suffering from hunger-thirst, sun-heat, its effect also fell on the children born in the womb of Chhaya i.e. Shani and their complexion became black.
When Shani Dev was born, Suryadev doubted Chhaya after seeing the color and insulted him and said that he cannot be my son. The power of mother's penance had also entered Shani Dev. When he saw his father Suryadev in anger, Suryadev turned completely black, his horses stopped moving.
Distressed, Suryadev had to take shelter of Lord Shiva, after which Lord Shiva made Suryadev realize his mistake. Suryadev started repenting for his actions and apologized for his mistake, on which he again got back his original form. But the relationship between father and son, which once deteriorated and then did not improve, even today Shani Dev is considered a rebel of his father Surya.
Why is Shani Dev's vision crooked?
One reason for Shani Dev's anger was revealed in the above story that Shani Dev got angry due to the insult of the mother, but the Brahma Purana tells a different story. According to Brahmapuran, Shani Dev was the supreme devotee of Lord Shri Krishna.
When Shanidev became young, he was married to the daughter of Chitrarath. Shani Dev's wife was Sati, Sadhvi and Param Tejaswini, but Shani Dev used to be so engrossed in the devotion of Lord Shri Krishna that he almost forgot his wife.
One night she came to Shani with the desire of getting a child after bathing in the season, but Shani Dev was engrossed in devotion as always. She got tired of waiting and her menstruation failed. In a fit of rage, he cursed Shani Dev that whoever he looks at will be destroyed.
Shanidev tried to persuade his wife when he lost his attention, he also realized his mistake but the arrow had left the bow which could not come back, he did not have the strength to counteract his curse. That's why Shani Dev started living with his head down.

3. Shani Dev is pleased by donating oil, black sesame seeds, black clothes etc. on Saturdays.

5. According to a story, Hanuman ji freed Shani Dev from Ravana's captivity. Since then, Shani Dev does not trouble the people who worship Hanuman ji.
6. The speed of Shani Dev is slow i.e. extremely slow. For this reason, he stays in one zodiac sign for about seven and a half years.
