The Government of India implemented One Nation, One MSP, One DBT scheme with an aim to eliminate the middleman market so that farmers can get maximum benefits. From the time of independence, till now it was arranged that the farmers were not given the value of their produce directly to the farmers through the middlemen, which caused losses to the farmers because the middlemen used to eat away the rights of the farmers. The Government of India started the One Nation, One MSP, One DBT scheme with an aim to provide benefits to the farmers so that the farmers can get the full value of their hard work.
Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Piyush Goyal said that the 'One Nation One MSP One DBT' principle has started benefiting farmers across the country. In Punjab and Haryana, arrangements have been made to make direct payment to the farmers for the purchase of wheat at the minimum support price (MSP). The concept of One Nation One MSP and One DBT has been implemented after the implementation of this scheme in the current Rabi marketing season.
In other states of the country, the process of online payment for procurement of crops on MSP had already been implemented. But till the last kharif season in the states of Punjab and Haryana, the MSP was being paid to the farmers through middlemen. For this reason, the farmers were not getting the right price for their produce. Therefore, the Government of India implemented the One Nation One MSP One DBT scheme, after which farmers started getting the right price for their produce.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal said in a tweet, "Farmers across the country are benefiting from the" One Nation, One MSP One DBT "principle. He said that the produce purchased on MSP from the farmers will be paid directly in their bank accounts.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal said, this shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to protect the interests of farmers.
In the current Rabi marketing season 2021-22, on 10 April, after procurement of wheat started in Punjab, by April 14, government agencies had purchased more than 11 lakh tonnes of wheat from farmers. At the same time, the procurement of wheat started in Haryana from April 1 and by April 14, more than 3 million tonnes had been procured.
In the current season till April 14, about 65 lakh trun wheat has been procured across the country and 6,60,593 farmers from 11 states of the country have benefited from this purchase on MSP, the total value of wheat purchased so far is Rs 12,800 crore. |
